Birth rate remains low in Finland in Jan-July

The number of births was 9,038 lower than that of deaths from January to July in the country, according to Statistics Finland.

Finland's population was 5,581,767 at the end of July.

Country's population, however, increased by 17,797 persons during January–July period.

The reason for the increase was migration gain from abroad, since immigration exceeded emigration by 26,922.

The number of births was 7,409 lower than that of deaths in Finland in January-May period and the number of births was 6,209 lower than the number of deaths from January to April this year.
