Building costs rise by 1% in February Y-on-Y

Building costs increased by 1.0 per cent in February 2026 compared to the stipulated period of previous year, according to Statistics Finland.
Among materials, the biggest cost increases in the year were recorded in timber structures (6.4%) and in heat, water and sewer supplies (2.9%).
Costs decreased most in the year in construction site surface structures (3.8%) and in heat insulation (3.8%).
Labour input costs increased by 3.1 per cent in February 2026 compared to a year ago while the costs of materials increased by 0.1 per cent compared to a year ago.
The costs of services decreased by 1.4 per cent from previous year´s February.
