Elisa to axe 450 jobs globally, 400 in Finland
Finnish telecommunications company Elisa is planning to cut up to 450 employees including 400 in Finland as a part of its austerity measures, said the company in a press release on Thursday.
The company decided to take the measures aiming to save about EUR 40 million annually and majority of the staff reduction is estimated to begin from the first quarter of 2026.
The austerity measures also include reductions of outsourced services and procurement efficiency improvements.
The related negotiations in Finland, and similar processes in other operating countries, will be initiated according to local practices.
The negotiations are expected to be completed by the end of this year.
“This programme is designed to accelerate the execution of our growth strategy, and to increase our agility and speed of operations, while simultaneously taking swift action to improve our competitiveness in the current market environment,” said Elisa’s Chief Executive Officer, Topi Manner.
