Manufactured goods see 1.5% price fall in July
Producer prices for manufactured products fell by an average of 1.5 per cent in July this year from July 2024, according to Statistics Finland.
The products sold on the domestic market fell by 0.4 per cent, while the producer prices of export products went down by 2.7 per cent.
The fall in prices was particularly caused by lower prices of refined petroleum products and pulp compared with last year's July.
The decrease in prices was curbed especially by the increase in prices of food products and precious metals from a year ago.

The import price index went down by 2.6 per cent in a year. The decrease in import prices was, in turn, especially caused by lower prices of crude petroleum and refined petroleum products compared with last year’s July. The basic price index for domestic supply fell by 1.6 per cent and the basic price index for domestic supply including taxes went down by 0.5 per cent from a year ago.
From June to July, producer prices for manufactured products went down by 0.1 per cent.
The decrease in producer prices was particularly caused by the lower prices of basic metals, and pulp, paper and paperboard compared with the previous month.
The fall in prices was curbed especially by the increase in prices of electricity compared with the previous month.
