Number of bankruptcies in Finland rises in June
A total of 305 bankruptcy proceedings were instigated in June 2025, which is 53 more than in the corresponding period one year earlier, according to Statistics Finland.
The number of staff-years in enterprises that filed for bankruptcy totalled 1,492, which is 477 staff-years more than in June 2024.
The 12-month moving annual change in instigated bankruptcy proceedings was nine per cent in June 2025.
Out of the 305 enterprises that filed for bankruptcy, 245 were limited companies.
Thirty-seven enterprises in manufacturing, 40 in trade and 51 in construction activities filed for bankruptcy.
The number of bankruptcies also increased in the previous month.
A total of 366 bankruptcy proceedings were instigated in May 2025, which is 39 more than in the corresponding period one year earlier.
