Real estate maintenance costs rise in Finland in Q2
Real estate maintenance costs rose by 0.7 per cent in Finland in the second quarter of 2025 compared to the corresponding period of 2024, according to Statistics Finland.
Of the cost items of real estate maintenance, the costs of water supply and sewage grew most, by 6.4 per cent. The costs of electricity fell by 7.9 per cent.
The total index decreased by 0.5 per cent compared to the previous quarter.
Examined by type of building, the maintenance costs of residential buildings rose most.
The maintenance costs of residential blocks of flats rose by 1.8 per cent, those of health care centres by 0.1 per cent and those of day care centres by 0.4 per cent in the second quarter of 2025.
The costs of industrial buildings decreased by 1.7 per cent. The costs of office buildings rose by 0.3 per cent and those of school buildings by 0.4 per cent compared to one year before. The costs of wholesale and retail trade buildings remained unchanged.
