9 top ranking staff lose job, 100 affect as UPM ends negotiation talks
Nine senior salaried officials will lose job, and about 100 others will be affected as the Finnish forest-based bio-industry company UPM Plywood completed negotiation talks, said UPM in a press release on Tuesday.
The company started the negotiation talks in April in a challenging operating environment to cut cost.
About 100 senior salaried and directors were included in the scope of the negotiations.
As a result of the negotiations, a reduction of 9 positions will take place. In addition, the plan will lead to changes to the organization of work, job descriptions, and job locations within the UPM Plywood organization.
UPM offered support to those affected by personnel reductions.
Earlier in March 2025, UPM decided to close paper mill in Germany, which will 462 staff.
