Prices of liquid fuels, electricity drop in Q1
Prices of liquid fuels, electricity and wood pellets fell in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the corresponding period in 2024, according to Statistics Finland.
Among the domestic fuels used in energy production, the user price of forest chippings fell and that of milled peat rose.
In March 2025, the consumer price of petrol fell by seven per cent, diesel by eight per cent and light fuel oil by 13 per cent from one year earlier.
The consumer price of wood pellets fell by 10 per cent in February 2025 compared to one year earlier.
The taxable price of milled peat rose by three per cent in the first quarter of 2025 and the price of forest chippings by 12 per cent compared to the corresponding period of 2024.
The total price of electricity for household customers went down by 19 to 21 per cent compared to one year earlier.
Correspondingly, the total price for enterprise and corporate customers fell by 15 to 39 per cent.
