OL2 resumes power generation after glitch

Electricity production at Olkiluoto 2 (OL2) nuclear plant resumed on early Saturday morning after a disruption of about 18 hours, said the owner of the plant Teollisuuden Voima Oyj (TVO) in a press release.
The plant unit was re synchronized to the national grid at 4:45 AM.
Electricity production at OL2 nuclear power plant was suspended on Friday morning due to a fault detected in the reactor.
The power generation was stopped at 10:59 a.m. when a software update to the reactor power control system was carried out at the plant unit.
The software of the reactor power control system has now been updated, and OL2 was able to resume electricity production on Saturday.
The production interruption lasted 17 hours and 46 minutes. The power ramp-up will take approximately 10 hours, the TVO added.
