The average number of unemployed persons in the first quarter of 2025 was 272,000 in Finland, which was 38,000 more than in January to March 2024, according to Statistics Finland.
The unemployment rate in the first quarter of 2025 was 9.7 per cent, having been 8.3 per cent one year earlier.
The number of employed persons in the first quarter was 28,000 lower than in the corresponding quarter of 2024.
The average number of employed persons in the first quarter was 2,544,000, which was 28,000 fewer than in the corresponding period of 2024.
There were 7,000 fewer employed men and 21,000 fewer employed women than in the first quarter of 2024.
The number of employed persons decreased most in human health and social work activities and increased most in transportation and storage.
